TUKS Aquatics high performance training center. A facility that houses everything a swim team could need to compete at the highest level.

This design is located on the LC De Villiers sports campus of the University of Pretoria. It is a proposal for a training center for TUKS Aquatics, that houses spaces for seminars, offices for coaches, indoor and outdoor training areas with gym equipment and single or double lane pools at half Olympic length for training. the basement training room has an underwater window that views into the main pool, this allows for coaches to view and analyse the swimmers technique. There are both wet and dry ablutions for male and female users, housing spaces for showers and toilets with urinals also in the male ablutions.

The design takes informants from the landscape of the site with the trees informing the shape of the design, this allows for no trees to be removed from the site withholding the biodiversity of the site and creating green spaces that add a serenity to the design. the building is of a contemporary design and it takes influence from the existing stands to echo the roof design. The alternating roofs allow for natural light to enter the buildings, the large glass facades allow for a sense of permeability from the inside to the outside.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this project.
